Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla highlighted the significance of preserving and studying the state’s cultural heritage for future generations. He made these remarks during the first Convocation Ceremony of the Manipur University of Culture in Imphal. Bhalla emphasized that such events mark a crucial milestone for universities and represent years of hard work by students.

The Governor praised the Manipur University of Culture for its role in promoting and researching the state’s cultural heritage. Established under the Manipur University of Culture Act, 2015, the institution aims to preserve the region’s diverse cultural traditions. Bhalla commended the university for becoming a vital center where tradition and scholarship intersect.

Congratulating the graduating students, Bhalla urged them to uphold and promote Manipur’s cultural traditions. He emphasized the importance of institutions like the Manipur University of Culture in safeguarding artistic practices such as dance, music, and martial arts. Bhalla also acknowledged the efforts of the Vice-Chancellor and staff in nurturing cultural learning in the region.

During the ceremony, Governor Bhalla awarded degrees and gold medals to over 400 graduates. The event marked a significant milestone as the first convocation ceremony of the University since its inception in 2015.
