Manipur’s Home Minister, Konthoujam Govindas Singh, highlighted the need for enhanced coordination among the Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and state administration to bolster peace, stability, and public trust in the region. He engaged in discussions with key security officials, including Lieutenant General Girish Kalia and Director General Gyanendra Pratap Singh, to assess the law and order situation in Manipur. These meetings follow a recent attack by a suspected Naga armed group that resulted in the deaths of two Assam Rifles personnel.
The Home Minister, after meeting with security officials, expressed appreciation for the Indian Army’s dedication in safeguarding the nation and contributing to Manipur’s security. Discussions with the CRPF focused on enhancing coordination and strengthening the security framework in the state. Efforts are being made to intensify coordinated operations to apprehend those responsible for the recent attack and prevent further violence escalation.
In a show of respect, the Home Minister, along with other dignitaries, paid tribute to the fallen soldiers at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in Imphal. He praised the courage and patriotism of the deceased personnel and reiterated the government’s commitment to collaborating with security agencies to restore peace and security in Manipur swiftly.
