Manisha Keer and Bhowneesh Mendiratta emerged as the top performers in the women’s and men’s Trap T1 categories, respectively, at the Shotgun National Selection Trials 1&2 held at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range. In the women’s finals, Manisha secured first place by hitting 27 targets, narrowly surpassing Neeru Dhanda who scored 25 hits. Aashima Ahlawat claimed the third spot with 20 hits.
Kirti Gupta led the qualification round with a score of 118 but finished seventh in the finals. Rajeshwari Kumari and Aashima Ahlawat both scored 114. Preeti Rajak qualified for the finals with a score of 113, followed by Manisha Keer with 110. The top eight finalists also included Neeru Dhanda, Varsha Varman, and Shagun Chowdhary.
In the men’s finals, Bhowneesh Mendiratta clinched the top position by narrowly defeating Prithviraj Tondaiman with a score of 28-27. Vivaan Kapoor, a World Cup Final 2024 medallist, secured the third position with 23 hits.
During the qualification round, Kynan Chenai topped the charts with a score of 122, followed by Prithviraj with 120. Vivaan and Ahvar Rizvi secured their spots with scores of 119. The top eight qualifiers also included Bhowneesh, Arshad Hasan Khan, Ali Aman Elahi, and Udaivir Singh Jaijee. Zoravar Singh Sandhu, a World Championship bronze medallist, missed the top eight due to a cutoff despite scoring 118.
Zuhair Khan claimed the first position in the junior men’s finals by scoring 27 hits, leading with a three-hit margin over Lakshya Atree who scored 23 hits. Navjeet Bishnoi secured the third spot with 18 hits. Manitwa Singh Rawat, who topped the qualification round with a score of 120, finished in eighth place.
Sabeera Haris, a World Cup mixed team medallist, emerged victorious in the women’s junior finals by narrowly defeating Addya Katyal with a score of 25-24. Addya led the qualifying round with a score of 114, while Sabeera secured the second position in the finals with 112 points.
