The Maroon Beret Ceremonial Parade took place at Garud Regimental Training Centre (GRTC), Air Force Station Chandinagar, to celebrate the successful training completion of Air Force Special Forces operatives from the ‘Garud’ force. AVM Rahul Gupta, Assistant Chief of the Air Staff, Operations (Space), presided over the parade as the Chief Guest of the event.

The Commandant of Garud Regimental Training Centre welcomed the Chief Guest and provided insights into various training aspects. The Chief Guest commended the ‘Garuds’ on their graduation, emphasizing the importance of rigorous training and honing Special Forces skills to adapt to evolving security challenges.

During the ceremony, the ‘Garuds’ showcased their skills in combat firing, hostage rescue, assault explosives, and various other military techniques. The event symbolized a significant achievement for the ‘Garuds,’ signifying the end of an intense training regimen and their transition into ‘Young Special Forces Operators’ within the elite ‘Garud’ force.

The newly graduated Special Force Operators are expected to enhance the Indian Air Force’s capabilities for special missions, building on the legacy of the IAF’s Special Forces’ role in Operation Sindoor. AVM Rahul Bhasin, ACAS (Ops) Space, previously highlighted the importance of space as a critical domain for military intelligence and advocated for the integration of artificial intelligence in developing efficient LEO constellations.
