Panic gripped Ghaziabad as a massive fire erupted on Thursday night at a paint factory and scrap warehouse in the Mainapur Industrial Area on Meerut Road. The intensity of the blaze led to thick black smoke visible from a distance. Firefighters swiftly responded to the scene and managed to contain the fire without any casualties.
The fire, reported around 8:56 PM on Thursday, affected the Arvind Chemicals Paint Factory and Saral Scrap in the Mainapur Industrial Area. Firefighters from multiple stations, including Vaishali and Kotwali Fire Stations, arrived with four fire tenders to combat the rapidly spreading flames. Despite challenges like collapsing structures, the firefighters successfully controlled the fire.
To enhance firefighting efforts, a JCB machine was utilized to remove obstacles hindering direct access to the flames. Additional fire tenders were summoned from nearby stations like Vaishali, Sahibabad, Modinagar, and Loni, along with firefighting resources from Hapur, Meerut, and Gautam Buddh Nagar. A total of 20 fire tenders collaborated to extinguish the fire and protect surrounding factories.
Currently, fire department teams are on-site, working to completely extinguish the fire and implement cooling measures. The cause of the fire remains unknown pending further investigation. Authorities are actively looking into the incident to determine the root cause.
