Hollywood actor Matt Damon has worked hard to transform his body for his role in the upcoming movie ‘The Odyssey’. Damon, aged 55, lost weight to play the character of Odysseus, the hero in Christopher Nolan’s new action-fantasy film. He achieved his high school weight of 167 pounds by cutting out gluten and rigorous training.
In a podcast with NFL stars Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce, Damon shared details of his intense training routine. He emphasized the importance of being lean yet strong for the role. Damon compared his physical preparation to that of professional athletes, highlighting the discipline and routine required for such transformations.
Since eliminating gluten from his diet, Damon has remained gluten-free. He even found a gluten-free beer, indicating his commitment to the dietary change. Additionally, apart from losing weight, Damon also grew a beard as part of his transformation for ‘The Odyssey’. Director Christopher Nolan preferred authentic facial hair over artificial options.
