A case of medical fraud surfaced in Daund, Maharashtra, where a fake doctor practicing without authorization was caught by the police. The accused, identified as Omprakash Bansilal Swarnkar, had set up an illegal clinic in Yavat, Kasurdi village, lacking proper medical qualifications or licenses. During a police raid, medicines, injections, and cash totaling Rs. 6.54 lakh were confiscated from the clinic.
The accused, a resident of Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district, was found operating the illicit clinic without the necessary credentials. The raid uncovered allopathic medicines from various companies, suspicious unlabelled liquids, and a significant sum of cash at the unauthorized medical facility. Additionally, a Honda City car parked outside the clinic was seized, containing more medical supplies.
Following a complaint by Dr. Ashish Shankar Shirase, a case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Medical Practice Act. Investigations revealed that the accused was deceiving patients by illegally practicing medicine, prompting further inquiries by the Yavat police.
In a separate incident, three individuals posing as doctors at “Sanjeevani Clinics” in Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh were arrested for submitting fake medical qualifications. The accused, Kumar Sachin Yadav and Rajpal Gaur, allegedly presented forged documents to secure positions at the clinic, leading to their apprehension by the authorities.
