First Lady Melania Trump has initiated a new global coalition involving 45 countries and major technology companies to advocate for enhanced access to education and technology for children worldwide. The “Fostering the Future Together” summit, held at the US Department of State, aims to unite international leaders, first spouses, and tech firms to expand educational resources and enhance child protection in digital spaces.

Melania Trump emphasized the coalition’s goal of empowering children through improved technology and education access, labeling it a significant moment. She outlined a strategic plan during her speech, focusing on developing innovative learning programs, promoting supportive education policies, enacting tech-oriented legislation, and fostering partnerships between governments and the private sector.

The summit revolves around four main areas: EdTech tools, artificial intelligence in education, online safety, and digital literacy. Melania Trump highlighted the involvement of major American tech companies like OpenAI, Palantir, Google, Meta, and Microsoft, underscoring their pivotal role in shaping the initiative. She urged leaders to leverage the gathered human capital to benefit children, communities, and economies.

Melania Trump stressed the coalition’s commitment to enhancing young people’s skills to thrive in a rapidly changing world. She positioned the coalition’s platform as a “capability multiplier,” centered on artificial intelligence, education, and global leadership. The First Lady emphasized the need for concrete initiatives that equip youth with essential skills and knowledge for success.

The summit signifies the first significant in-person gathering of the coalition since its inception during the United Nations General Assembly in September 2025. It underscores the global emphasis on digital education and safe online environments for children amid the expanding presence of artificial intelligence and digital platforms in educational settings. The involvement of tech giants signals a growing reliance on public-private partnerships to extend educational solutions globally.
