Mercedes-Benz India introduced the Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+, the first electrified AMG E-Class sedan in the country. Priced at Rs 1.45 crore for the Performance Edition and Rs 1.48 crore for the Racing Edition, this model combines AMG performance with the efficiency of a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
This launch aligns with Mercedes-Benz’s strategy of offering customers a range of powertrain options, including internal combustion engine, electric, and plug-in hybrid models. Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, emphasized that the AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+ blends performance, practicality, and electric efficiency, catering to diverse customer needs.
The AMG E 53 HYBRID features a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine generating 330 kW (449 hp) and a 120 kW electric motor integrated into the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission. With a combined output of 430 kW (585 hp) and 750 Nm of torque, the sedan can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kmph, extendable to 280 kmph with the optional AMG Driver’s Package.
