The Meteorological Centre in Jaipur, under the India Meteorological Department (IMD), has issued a yellow alert for various regions in Rajasthan. This alert is in response to an active Western Disturbance expected to bring strong winds, rainfall, and isolated hailstorms to the state from Monday to Wednesday. Parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, and Jaipur divisions, along with the Shekhawati region, are likely to experience these weather conditions.
The impact of this weather system is anticipated to peak on Tuesday, affecting regions such as Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, and Udaipur divisions. Thunderstorms, strong winds, moderate to heavy rainfall, and isolated hailstorms are expected during this period. Rainfall ranging from 20 to 50 mm is forecasted, particularly in the Bikaner division, Shekhawati region, and nearby areas.
By April 8, the weather activity is expected to diminish gradually. Light to moderate rainfall may occur in isolated locations in the northern parts of Bikaner, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions, while most areas are likely to remain dry. Following this, Rajasthan is expected to experience predominantly dry weather for the next few days, with a slight increase in maximum temperatures.
Farmers are advised by the Meteorological Department to take precautions such as safely storing harvested crops, covering grains in open fields, and protecting produce from potential rain and hail damage. The general public is also urged to be cautious during periods of strong winds and thunderstorms, and to stay updated with the latest information from the Meteorological Department.
Weather conditions in Rajasthan have been dry over the past 24 hours, with partly cloudy skies in some areas due to a disturbance. Temperatures across the state have been below normal levels, with Barmer recording the highest maximum temperature at 35.1 degrees Celsius and Lunkaransar registering the lowest minimum temperature at 15.9 degrees Celsius.
