Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Khadse, inspected the arrangements for the upcoming Asian Senior Fencing Championships 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The championship, scheduled from June 19 to 24, 2026, will kick off with an Opening Ceremony themed “ONE DREAM | ONE BLADE | ONE PRIDE” on Friday at 6:00 PM in Hall No. 2-3, Bharat Mandapam (Pragati Maidan).
Mansukh Mandaviya, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, will grace the event as the Chief Guest during the Opening Ceremony. Notable international sports leaders like Abdelmoneim El Husseiny, H.H. Eng. Sheikh Salem Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, and Vitaly Logvin Grechuhin will also be in attendance.
Accompanied by key officials, Khadse assessed the competition infrastructure, athlete amenities, and technology-driven officiating systems being set up for the successful organization of the championship. She emphasized the importance of integrating modern sports technologies to enhance athlete performance and meet international standards effectively.
The 2026 Asian Senior Fencing Championship marks a significant moment as India hosts this prestigious continental event for the first time. With participants from 36 countries and a total of 787 accreditations, including athletes, coaches, managers, support staff, delegates, volunteers, and Local Organising Committee (LOC) members, the competition is set to be a grand affair.
In her remarks, Khadse highlighted India’s progress as a global sporting nation under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. She mentioned that hosting such international events aligns with India’s sports development roadmap, Khelo Bharat Niti 2025, and showcases the country’s capabilities on the global sports stage.
