The Ministry of Ayush has invited people from all over India to join the 12th International Day of Yoga celebrations on June 21. The ministry emphasized the significance of this event as a historic celebration of health, harmony, and the nation’s enduring yoga tradition.
Celebrations are scheduled to take place in 23 States and Union Territories, with special events planned at prominent public locations in Delhi. Participants have the opportunity to engage in yoga sessions at various designated venues across the National Capital Region, including major parks, sports complexes, heritage sites, and community spaces.
Citizens, organizations, institutions, and communities are urged by the Ministry of Ayush to attend their nearest yoga venue punctually and practice the Common Yoga Protocol together. The main event, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will be held at the historic Red Road in Kolkata, where the entire nation will unite to participate in the Common Yoga Protocol and promote India’s yoga message globally.
The Ministry of Culture is also hosting special IDY 2026 celebrations at 100 iconic locations nationwide, showcasing India’s cultural heritage, historic landmarks, and the enduring tradition of yoga. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), under the Ministry of Culture, is coordinating IDY 2026 events at 100 iconic sites across India, emphasizing the unique link between the country’s rich civilizational legacy, historic monuments, and the ancient practice of yoga.
Participants are encouraged to arrive early, engage enthusiastically, and be part of this historic celebration that embodies the essence of Jan Bhagidari and India’s dedication to spreading yoga’s message of health, harmony, and well-being worldwide.
