The Ministry of Education clarified that a fire incident occurred at the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) in ITO, New Delhi, not at the ministry’s office. The ministry’s office is situated at Kartavya Bhavan-2, Dr Rajendra Prasad Road, New Delhi, distinct from SPA’s location at 4- Block B, Indraprastha Estate, Vikas Marg (ITO), New Delhi. This clarification aims to prevent the spread of misinformation about the fire incident.

The Education Ministry assured that the fire at SPA was minor and swiftly brought under control, with no loss of life or property reported. A significant fire erupted on the second floor of SPA’s campus in Delhi’s ITO area, leading to the dispatch of eight fire tenders by the Delhi Fire Services. The fire originated on the second floor of the SPA building, prompting the evacuation of everyone inside before informing the Fire Department urgently.

The Delhi Fire Service responded to a call about the blaze at approximately 9:37 a.m., dispatching fire tenders promptly to the scene for ongoing firefighting operations. The cause of the fire remains undetermined, with investigations in progress and further details awaited. In a separate incident, a massive fire broke out in a house in Indira Vihar, Mukherjee Nagar area, North-West Delhi, with around half a dozen fire tenders controlling the blaze. No casualties were reported, and the Fire Department received the alert about the fire around 10:30 p.m. last night.
