The Ministry of Railways has introduced a competition called “Rail Yatra Vritant Puraskar Yojana” to gather diverse experiences from the public and railway staff. The aim is to enhance railway services, promote Hindi, and encourage creative writing based on real travel stories. Rail journeys hold significant memories for many Indians, and participants are invited to share their memorable experiences for a chance to win cash prizes and citations.
The competition offers a first prize of Rs 10,000, a second prize of Rs 8,000, and a third prize of Rs 6,000, along with five consolation prizes of Rs 4,000 each. Entries must be original rail travel narratives in Hindi, ranging between 3,000 and 3,500 words. Participants need to follow specific guidelines, including proper formatting, word count, and personal details for submission.
Government employees and Indian citizens can take part by submitting their entries before July 31, 2026. The competition not only provides a platform to share travel stories but also aims to contribute to the improvement of railway services and the promotion of the Hindi language, as highlighted by the Northeast Frontier Railway Chief Public Relations Officer.
