Mirra Andreeva, aged 19, made history by winning her first Grand Slam title at the French Open. She defeated Maja Chwalinska 6-3, 6-2 in the women’s singles final at Stade Roland-Garros in Paris, becoming the youngest women’s singles champion in Paris since 1992.
Andreeva’s journey at Roland-Garros has been extraordinary, starting in 2023 when she entered the main draw after qualifying rounds. She impressed by reaching the semifinals and then returned two years later to claim the prestigious title.
After a one hour and 22-minute match, Andreeva emotionally celebrated her victory by dropping to the court before sharing a heartfelt embrace with her coach Conchita Martinez, a former world No. 2 and Wimbledon champion who played a pivotal role in her development.
