Mizoram Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd) highlighted the state’s rich cultural heritage, craftsmanship, agro-based potential, and creative industries, underscoring untapped opportunities that can be unlocked through collaborative efforts.
The Governor inaugurated the ‘LESDE Kût 2026 – Accelerating Innovation, Empowering Entrepreneurs’, a five-day event organized by the Labour, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Department, running from February 10 to 14 at Lammual ground in Aizawl.
Emphasizing the importance of creating new livelihood opportunities, empowering youth through skill development, and supporting entrepreneurs, the Governor stressed the critical role of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector in driving economic growth nationally and globally.
General Singh (Retd) advocated for extending MSME activities to remote villages, promoting job fairs to connect job seekers with employers, and encouraging continuous skill upgrades in today’s technology-driven economy. He urged proactive implementation of central government schemes for effective public benefit and called on Mizoram residents to leverage the state’s resources for sustainable and inclusive development.
