Mizoram has achieved full digitization of the enumeration process, becoming the first among the 16 states and two Union Territories currently undergoing the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The draft electoral rolls for 2026 were recently released in all 11 districts of Mizoram, revealing a total of 8,28,906 registered voters, with 4,29,881 women and 3,99,025 men.
Chief Electoral Officer Garima Gupta commended the efforts of political parties, election officials, and grassroots-level functionaries for their hard work in completing the Enumeration Phase of SIR-2026 in Mizoram. She emphasized the importance of the publication of the draft electoral roll and urged political parties to actively engage in voter awareness initiatives.
During a meeting with representatives of political parties, Gupta highlighted Mizoram’s milestone in achieving 100% digitization of the enumeration process. The claims and objections period, allowing citizens to apply for inclusion, correction, or deletion of entries in the electoral roll, will be open from July 4 to August 4, 2026.
Representatives of various political parties expressed satisfaction with the implementation of SIR-2026 and praised the efforts of Booth Level Officers and Booth Level Agents in successfully completing the enumeration process. The Election Commission of India Secretary emphasized the nationwide significance of the Special Intensive Revision exercise and urged officials to fulfill their responsibilities diligently and transparently.
