DMK President MK Stalin expressed gratitude to the people of Tamil Nadu for their support in the recent Assembly elections. He emphasized that the party would continue to serve as a robust Opposition force. Stalin highlighted that every vote for the DMK-led alliance was a significant display of trust.
The alliance secured over 1.54 crore votes, showcasing the enduring confidence people have in the party. Despite a narrow margin of 17.43 lakh votes between the DMK alliance and the winning front, Stalin emphasized the party’s strong support base. He urged newly-elected legislators to personally thank voters in their constituencies.
Stalin stressed the importance of direct public engagement, stating that the people are paramount in a democracy. Reflecting on the party’s history, he underscored the preservation of ideological foundations over electoral victories. Stalin praised party workers as the backbone of the movement and expressed confidence in their dedication guiding the party’s future.
Reaffirming the DMK’s commitment to the principles of Periyar E. V. Ramasamy, C.N. Annadurai, and M. Karunanidhi, Stalin assured the party’s dedication to social justice, language, and regional identity. He pledged to advocate for the people’s rights as a strong Opposition and expressed optimism about the party’s return to power in the future.
