More than 90% of professionals in India are planning to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) for job searches by 2026, as per a report from LinkedIn. The report indicates that AI has transitioned from being a productivity tool to a confidence booster for Indian job seekers, with 66% feeling that AI enhances their interview confidence.

With the increasing integration of AI in the hiring process and the evolving skill requirements for modern jobs, 84% of respondents feel unprepared for job searches. Despite this, 72% are actively seeking new roles in 2026 amidst a competitive job market that is becoming more selective.

While 87% of professionals express comfort in using AI at work, there is a sense of uncertainty regarding its application in the hiring process. Approximately 77% believe there are too many stages in the hiring process, and 66% find it to be increasingly impersonal.

Nirajita Banerjee, LinkedIn Career Expert and Sr. Managing Editor, LinkedIn India News, emphasized the significance of AI in shaping careers and talent evaluation in India. Banerjee highlighted the need for professionals to understand how their skills align with opportunities and how hiring decisions are made, emphasizing the role of AI tools in bridging this gap.
