Bhopal, Aug 19 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will transfer more than Rs 2,148 crore into the bank accounts of over 1.25 crore eligible women under the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana at a state-level programme in Maihar on Wednesday.

The amount includes the 39th instalment of the scheme and an additional assistance of Rs 250 per beneficiary being given as a Raksha Bandhan gift.

“Today, from Maihar, I will transfer the 39th instalment of the Ladli Behna Yojana into the accounts of eligible sisters. Along with this, an additional amount of Rs 250 will also be sent to the accounts of sisters as a Raksha Bandhan gift,” CM Yadav wrote on X in the morning.

More than 1.2513 crore eligible women will benefit from the latest transfer, with each beneficiary receiving Rs 1,750. Of the total amount, more than Rs 1,835.46 crore will be transferred as the 39th instalment at the rate of Rs 1,500 per beneficiary, while more than Rs 312.83 crore will be provided as additional assistance of Rs 250 per beneficiary on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

The amount will be transferred directly into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, officials said.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister will also inaugurate and perform the groundbreaking ceremony for various development projects worth Rs 256 crore in Maihar district during the programme.

The Ladli Behna scheme was launched by the Madhya Pradesh government in June 2023 to provide regular financial assistance to eligible women.

According to official figures, a total of Rs 63,248 crore has been transferred to beneficiaries through 39 instalments since the launch of the scheme.

The state government has made a budgetary provision of Rs 23,882.81 crore for the scheme for the financial year 2026-27. The latest transfer is part of the government’s efforts to provide financial assistance directly to women beneficiaries through the DBT mechanism.
