Government-supported MSME schemes are crucial for fostering entrepreneurship, expanding market reach, and offering affordable credit to small businesses, according to industry experts. Satish Goyal, President of the Himachal Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the role of these schemes during an awareness program in Sirmaur. He emphasized that the initiatives provide detailed guidance for entrepreneurs to establish and grow their businesses.
Goyal also noted that the programs assist young individuals in launching self-employment ventures with the backing of MSME initiatives. Describing MSME as a significant government scheme, he mentioned the increasing interest among people to leverage its advantages. Ashok Kumar Gautam, an MSME IDS Officer, mentioned that awareness campaigns are being conducted in Himachal Pradesh to promote these schemes.
Gautam highlighted a national seminar held in the industrial area of Gondpur in Paonta Sahib to advocate for the MSME Public Procurement and Market Support Scheme. The event saw the participation of bank officials, experts from IIT Roorkee, representatives from the Industries Department, and officers from the National SC-ST Hub, who shared valuable insights with attendees. He emphasized the challenges faced by MSMEs in marketing their products and how the program aimed to educate participants on enhancing market access and procurement opportunities for better product sales.
