The Mumbai Open WTA 125K Series is scheduled to be held at the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA) in Mumbai. Qualifying rounds are planned for January 30, 31, and February 1, with the main draw set from February 2 to 8.
The tournament will feature a strong international lineup in both singles and doubles draws, with renowned players from various countries expected to participate. Players like Lulu Sun from New Zealand, Darja Semenistaja from Latvia, Kimberly Birrell from Australia, Hanne Vandewinkel from Belgium, and Joanna Garland from Chinese Taipei are part of the singles entry list.
Indian players will have the opportunity to gain valuable international experience at the Mumbai Open. Due to a high cutoff, Indian players can secure entry into the Main Draw through Wild Cards, continuing the event’s support for Indian tennis development.
Sunder Iyer, Secretary of MSLTA, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming tournament, highlighting the Mumbai Open’s growth as a significant event on the Indian tennis calendar. The event aims to provide a platform for Indian players to compete against top international talent and is expected to offer a week of high-quality tennis in Mumbai.
The Mumbai Open Tennis Championship, now in its fifth year, has seen notable winners in the past, including Aryna Sabalenka in 2017, Darja Semeņistaja in 2024, and Jil Tiechmann in 2025.
