Rising Indian left-arm spinner N Sree Charani has been nominated for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for June 2026. Charani excelled during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, emerging as the leading wicket-taker despite India’s early exit from the tournament.
Charani showcased exceptional performance by taking 14 wickets in just six T20Is with an impressive average of 11 and an economy rate of 6.69. She consistently delivered impactful spells, including notable performances against Pakistan, the Netherlands, and South Africa.
Competing for the monthly accolade, Charani faces tough competition from Danni Wyatt-Hodge, who had a remarkable month with 287 runs in six T20Is at an outstanding average of 71.75 and a strike rate of 151.85.
Danni Wyatt-Hodge made history by becoming the first woman to surpass 300 runs in a single edition of the T20 World Cup, finishing with a total of 302 runs. Her standout innings included a century against Sri Lanka and significant contributions against the West Indies and New Zealand.
Additionally, Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce is in contention for the award due to her exceptional all-round performance. Bryce played a crucial role in Scotland’s victory in a tri-series before the T20 World Cup, accumulating 178 runs and claiming 11 wickets in June. She also played a pivotal innings of 60 runs against Ireland in the T20 World Cup.
