Speaking at the 25th anniversary of the Kohima Press Club, he expressed concern over the increasing negativity and controversy in today’s news.
Rio commended the Kohima Press Club for its fearless journalism despite challenges like limited resources and lack of industry support. He praised the Club’s efforts to recognize excellence in journalism and promote people-centric reporting that amplifies marginalized voices. The Chief Minister also acknowledged the Club’s role in organizing media conclaves to prepare journalists for future challenges.
Kohima Press Club President Alice Yhoshü highlighted the Club’s achievements over the past 25 years, while Press Club of India President Sangeeta Barooah Pisharoty praised the Club for its professionalism and dedication.
