Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav highlighted the importance of cooperation among government agencies, educational institutions, industries, and social organizations to establish sustainable job opportunities. He emphasized the necessity for joint efforts to address skill gaps, boost employability, and promote inclusive economic growth. Speaking at the Kohima Job Fair 2026, he underscored the significance of collective action in tackling employment challenges and fostering meaningful prospects for the state’s youth.
Yadav praised the presence of more than 25 companies from various sectors and over 500 job seekers at the job fair, indicating a strong interest from both Nagaland’s youth and employers in talent development and job creation. He pointed out that Nagaland had 70,469 registered unemployed individuals as of February 2026, emphasizing the urgent need for enhanced collaboration to establish sustainable pathways to employment and livelihoods.
The Governor commended several organizations, including the Ministry of Labour & Employment, National Career Service Centre for SC/ST Kohima, and Don Bosco College, for their commitment to youth development. He also recognized the Don Bosco Job Placement Network for its significant role in facilitating employment opportunities for over 40,000 young people across India through career guidance, skill training, and job placements. Yadav encouraged job seekers to seize the opportunity, remain confident, embrace learning, and be prepared for new challenges, highlighting the dignity and self-reliance that employment brings.
