The Anti-Corruption Bureau in Jammu and Kashmir apprehended a Naib Tehsildar in Anantnag district while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000. The official was caught in connection with a land inheritance mutation case.
Following a complaint, the ACB confirmed that the Naib Tehsildar was demanding a bribe of Rs 1,00,000 for land mutation. The complainant, refusing to pay the bribe, sought legal action against the official as per the law.
A case was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and a trap team successfully caught the Naib Tehsildar red-handed while accepting the bribe. The accused was arrested on the spot, and the bribe amount was recovered in the presence of witnesses.
