National award-winning musician Swanand Kirkire is set to release a new love song titled “Akelaa” next month, marking his return to romantic music, a genre he deeply cherishes. Known for his heartfelt compositions in Indian cinema, Kirkire expressed his profound connection to romantic songs, emphasizing the timeless and personal nature of love as an emotion. As both a lyricist and composer, he aims to capture unspoken intimate feelings and infuse them with melodies that resonate with listeners. Kirkire, who will also lend his voice to these songs, values the authenticity and honesty in expressing emotions through music, aiming to create a genuine and emotional connection with his audience.
Kirkire shared his passion for singing his own compositions, highlighting the raw and unfiltered expression it allows, enabling him to convey emotions exactly as he feels them. By releasing a song every month, he seeks to stay true to his creative instincts, focusing on consistency and sincerity rather than scale or pressure. His goal is to establish a platform where listeners can find real and emotional music that resonates with them personally.
Apart from his musical endeavors, Kirkire is gearing up to collaborate with Sudhir Mishra once again for the political drama series “Summer of 77.” This series, set against the backdrop of the 1975-1977 Indian Emergency, delves into themes of youthful rebellion and idealism. Starring a talented ensemble including Rahul Bhat, Isha Talwar, Vishal Vashishtha, and others, the series promises a compelling narrative that explores significant historical events through a dramatic lens.
