Prime Minister Narendra Modi kickstarted the National Democratic Alliance’s campaign for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections with a rally near Madurantakam on the outskirts of Chennai. During the event, AMMK leader T.T.V. Dhinakaran criticized Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for prioritizing dynastic politics over addressing the state’s issues.
Dhinakaran accused the ruling DMK government of neglecting governance, law and order, and economic relief in favor of promoting Stalin’s son, Udhayanidhi Stalin, as a future Chief Minister. He highlighted the state’s challenges with rising crime, violence, and a lack of public order, attributing these issues to the government’s focus on family-centric politics.
The NDA rally, attended by Prime Minister Modi and various alliance leaders, aimed to showcase unity ahead of the crucial polls. Dhinakaran emphasized Modi’s commitment to ending what he called “anti-people family rule” in Tamil Nadu, with a focus on offering a development-oriented, secure, and corruption-free governance model.
By joining the NDA, Dhinakaran explained that despite past disagreements, the alliance was formed in the best interest of Tamil Nadu. He underscored the importance of firm leadership, citing former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s legacy as a guide for taking principled stands in public interest.
