After securing the Women’s Hockey India League 2025-26 title for SG Pipers, Navneet Kaur, the Player of the Tournament and team captain, praised her team’s composure during the shootout and their remarkable transformation from last place in the previous season to champions this year.
In a thrilling final match, SG Pipers triumphed over Bengal Tigers 3-2 in a shootout following a 1-1 tie in regular time. Despite previous shootout losses to Bengal Tigers, Navneet highlighted the team’s strategic focus during crucial moments.
Navneet attributed their late comeback to the team’s unwavering belief and determination. She emphasized the team’s consistent performance throughout the season, stating that adherence to their initial plans and objectives was crucial for their success.
Reflecting on the season, Navneet stressed the importance of maintaining consistency and clarity in their approach. She mentioned the team’s proactive planning after finishing last in the previous season, which led to significant improvements and a successful campaign this year.
For her outstanding contributions, Navneet was awarded the Player of the Tournament title and received a prize of Rs 20 lakh.
