The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) wrapped up a comprehensive six-day “Orientation Programme” in New Delhi from June 1 to 6, 2026. The programme aimed to prepare recently appointed zonal directors and assistant directors for leading anti-narcotics operations nationwide. Led by the NCB Director General, the officers engaged in sessions covering operational priorities, coordination frameworks, and best practices in drug law enforcement.
A key aspect of the programme was a detailed overview of the three-year National Roadmap for Drug Control. The officers were briefed on their specific roles as zonal directors, emphasizing strategic planning, intelligence gathering, and enforcement strategies at the zonal level. Post-orientation, these officers will be stationed in various NCB Zones to strengthen field-level enforcement and intelligence networks.
The NCB’s initiative underscores its commitment to combat drug trafficking in India. With the increasing challenges from synthetic drugs and organized narcotics networks, enhancing senior leadership capabilities is essential. The Director General expressed confidence in the officers’ ability to contribute significantly to the national roadmap, reinforcing the country’s fight against illicit drugs.
