NCP-SP spokesperson Anish Gawande criticized Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his comments directed at Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, labeling it as a “politics of distraction.” Gawande questioned the appointments within the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, highlighting concerns over alleged thefts of silver and cash, and the independence of the Trust.
Gawande raised doubts about the background verification of individuals managing the Trust, questioning the process of appointing its members. He emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in the functioning of the Ram Temple Trust, urging for an independent inquiry into alleged corruption.
In response to Adityanath’s accusations against Akhilesh Yadav and the SP, Gawande stressed that religious affiliations should not hinder discussions on issues like corruption. He criticized the attempt to divert attention through religious politics and called for a focus on addressing real concerns and conducting thorough investigations.
Gawande also highlighted concerns over recent paper leaks in examinations like the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026, attributing these incidents to a lack of accountability. He pointed out the need for holding responsible authorities accountable for such leaks and emphasized the importance of addressing systemic issues in the education sector.
