The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Maharashtra will conduct a ‘Jan Seva Saptah’ from July 22 to July 26 to commemorate the birth anniversary of late Ajit Pawar, the former national president and ex-Deputy Chief Minister. State President Sunil Tatkare announced this initiative, highlighting Ajit Pawar’s dedication to public service and leadership qualities. The week-long event will include various public welfare activities across the state, focusing on key thematic areas.
Paying homage to Ajit Pawar’s contributions, Tatkare emphasized the late leader’s efforts in areas such as agriculture, finance, healthcare, and infrastructure, benefiting farmers, laborers, women, youth, and students. The campaign will feature programs aimed at environmental conservation, including a significant tree plantation drive under the theme “Green Maharashtra, Trees My Shadow, Trees My Mother; Ajit Pawar’s Vision, Green Creation.”
In alignment with Ajit Pawar’s environmental concerns, the NCP will launch the ‘Devgiri to Devrai’ tree conservation project in collaboration with the Sahyadri Devrai Foundation, led by actor Sayaji Shinde. Additionally, the party will organize blood donation camps, diagnostic drives, and health awareness programs covering various health aspects in both rural and urban areas.
The NCP’s initiatives will extend to cleanliness drives at historical sites, public transit hubs, and during the Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage. Special attention will be given to women’s empowerment through skill development, financial support, and leadership training at state-level conventions. The party will also introduce awards recognizing women’s contributions in agriculture and distribute the ‘Ajit Pawar Women Empowerment Award.’
To promote agricultural advancements, the NCP will host AI-based agricultural workshops, exhibitions, and crop-pattern counseling sessions, honoring progressive farmers with the ‘Ajit Dada Krishi Sanman Award.’ Youth Resolution Camps will be conducted to train young leaders for upcoming elections, alongside honoring accomplished athletes. The party will also focus on minority welfare schemes through dedicated service events across the state.
The responsibility for executing the ‘Jan Seva Saptah’ activities has been entrusted to Guardian Ministers and Liaison Ministers, who will coordinate with district officials and party members for effective implementation at the grassroots level.
