With the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approaching, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will officially start its campaign with a rally featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Madurantakam on Friday. The rally, set along the Chennai-Tindivanam highway, marks the NDA’s first major public event before the elections and is anticipated to attract a large audience from across the state. Leaders from various NDA constituent parties, such as AIADMK, BJP, PMK, TMC, and AMMK, are expected to be present at the gathering.
Nainar Nagenthran, BJP state president and legislative party leader, revealed the plan for the rally, signaling the NDA’s strong intent to challenge the ruling DMK party. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to address the rally and deliver a significant election speech, initiating the NDA’s electoral campaign in Tamil Nadu. Nagenthran emphasized the importance of the event, stating that it signifies the beginning of the NDA’s electoral battle in the state.
Responding to queries about the final list of NDA alliance partners, Nagenthran refrained from naming specific parties but hinted at a united front at the Madurantakam rally. He assured that all leaders would have a presence on the stage during the Prime Minister’s visit, indicating a show of unity among the alliance members. Nagenthran also addressed the ongoing exchange between DMK and AIADMK over election promises, defending AIADMK’s manifesto proposals and highlighting the enhancements made to existing schemes.
