Nepal has revealed a 24-player group that will be part of the selection process for their final squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The players in this list will participate in a training camp before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, where the squad will be trimmed down to 15 players for the tournament in India and Sri Lanka, starting on February 7.
The team has retained the 16 members who performed well in the T20I series against the West Indies, where they emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline. Additionally, eight more players, including Sher Malla, Binod Bhandari, Abinash Bohara, and Bashir Ahmed, who showcased their skills in the recent Nepal Premier League, have been added to the mix, as reported by ICC.
Nepal secured a spot in the 2026 T20 World Cup after an unbeaten run at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia-Pacific Regional Final in Oman. This will be Nepal’s second consecutive appearance and third overall in the tournament.
In the T20 World Cup, Nepal is placed in Group C and is scheduled to face England, the West Indies, Bangladesh, and Italy. The tournament, featuring 20 teams, will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka across 29 days and eight venues, with five in India and three in Sri Lanka.
A total of 40 group matches will take place from February 7 to 20, following which the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eights phase starting on February 21. The top four teams after the Super Eights will progress to the knockout stages, with semi-finals planned in Kolkata/Colombo and Mumbai before the final showdown on March 8 in Ahmedabad/Colombo.
