General Dhiraj Seth, the newly appointed 31st Chief of the Army Staff, met with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss his plans for the Indian Army. Emphasizing the Army’s readiness to face challenges, he highlighted the importance of modernizing the force to adapt to evolving security needs.
General Seth introduced his strategic focus areas using the acronym ‘VIJAY’. He stressed the significance of vigilance along borders and against emerging threats, as well as the need for innovation and transformation in military doctrine and technology. Additionally, he underscored the importance of jointness and integration with the Indian Air Force and Navy for enhanced operational effectiveness.
In his address, General Seth highlighted the value of indigenous capabilities and technologies to achieve self-reliance in defense. He also expressed his commitment to prioritizing the welfare, empowerment, and professional growth of soldiers, veterans, and their families. Recognizing the contributions of past Army Chiefs, he affirmed the Army’s dedication to safeguarding national interests.
