Chief of Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth revealed his vision ‘VIJAY’ for a future-ready force, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘JAI’ principles of Jointness, Atmanirbharta, and Innovation. Gen Seth expressed his commitment to leading with ideals of duty, honor, and ‘Nation First’ after assuming the role as the 31st Chief of Army Staff. He emphasized the Indian Army’s combat readiness and technological adaptability to face evolving security challenges.
Gen Seth outlined his priorities under ‘VIJAY,’ with ‘V’ symbolizing Vigilance and Readiness, ‘I’ for Innovation and Transformation, ‘J’ representing Jointness and Integration, ‘A’ for Atmanirbharta (self-reliance), and ‘Y’ for ‘Yodha First’ focusing on soldier empowerment and welfare. He acknowledged the contributions of former Army Chiefs in shaping the Indian Army and assured the nation of the Army’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding national interests. Gen Seth emphasized the importance of the guiding principles of ‘JAI’ and ‘VIJAY’ for achieving success and victory.
The new Army Chief succeeded General Upendra Dwivedi as the Chief of the Army Staff upon his retirement, taking charge of leading the Indian Army into the future.
