A new Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Knowledge Centre is set to be built in Hyderabad at a cost of Rs 110 crore. This center aims to provide academic resources, technology-enabled learning, and career support to students and unemployed youth. Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka recently inspected the site where the center will be constructed near Lower Tank Bund.
The Knowledge Centre will feature study circles, digital libraries, and conference halls, serving as a hub for knowledge dissemination. It will also offer a technological ecosystem to digitally stream activities to remote areas and host seminars with global intellectuals. The center, to be located at the site of Ambedkar Bhavan, will have a cellar, a ground floor, and 10 additional floors.
The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that the Knowledge Centre is not just a building but a continuous educational platform. It aims to alleviate the financial burdens faced by students from various backgrounds who come to Hyderabad for competitive exam coaching. The government plans to provide free coaching facilities across the state to help unemployed youth secure jobs, with top lecturers delivering lessons online through an interconnected network of Ambedkar Knowledge Centres.
