New Zealand MP Welcomes India’s Rising Power and Free Trade Agreement

New Zealand Member of Parliament Phil Twyford expressed the significance of India as a rising global power and the timely nature of the India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement. He emphasized India’s emergence as a political and economic force in Asia, highlighting the need for New Zealand to adapt to a multipolar world. Twyford welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to New Zealand, underscoring the potential benefits of a deeper partnership between the two countries.

Twyford described Prime Minister Modi’s visit as highly important, noting that the signing of the free trade agreement signifies a key milestone in bilateral relations. He emphasized the strategic value of the agreement for New Zealand, particularly in enhancing ties with India on various levels, including trade and people-to-people connections.
