In a joint operation with Manipur Police and CRPF, the NIA apprehended 10 individuals linked to ethnic violence in Manipur. The arrests followed multi-location searches in various districts of Manipur, targeting those allegedly involved in violent incidents. These accused individuals are suspected of active participation in attacks on security forces, arms looting, and bank robberies during the period of ethnic unrest in Manipur.
The NIA, supported by state police and central security agencies, conducted the operations based on thorough intelligence and investigations. The focus was on identifying and prosecuting individuals from different communities engaged in criminal and terrorist activities in Manipur. The arrests are expected to provide crucial insights into the planning, execution, and support networks behind the violent cases.
This operation marks a significant step towards restoring peace and security in Manipur while ensuring justice for the perpetrators of violence. The NIA emphasized its commitment to ongoing investigations in Manipur-related cases, hinting at potential future arrests. Additionally, the agency filed a charge sheet against a second accused in a 2025 Andhra Pradesh case involving the recovery of explosives for terror activities.
The newly charge-sheeted individual, Shaik Mansoor alias Mohammed Ali alias Vijayakumar, faces charges under relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. He was arrested in connection with the case alongside a previously charge-sheeted individual, Shaik Amanulla alias Abubakar Siddique, in December 2025. The NIA continues its efforts to investigate possible linkages between different incidents and individuals involved in the alleged conspiracy.
