The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at six locations across Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi as part of an investigation into a Cambodia-linked human trafficking and cyber slavery racket. The operation targeted premises associated with the accused in the case. Raids were carried out in four districts of Bihar and one location each in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
During the searches, NIA teams seized smartphones, laptops, digital devices, and incriminating documents. The investigation focuses on an organised syndicate allegedly led by Anand Kumar Singh alias Munna Singh, who remains absconding. Anand Kumar and four associates were charged in May 2026, with three aides arrested earlier in February 2026 upon their return from Cambodia.
The syndicate is accused of luring Indian youth to Cambodia with false promises of high-paying jobs. Victims were allegedly forced to work in scam centers, enduring mental and physical torture when they resisted. The NIA’s ongoing efforts aim to track down absconders and dismantle the network that exploited Indian youths under the guise of employment opportunities in Southeast Asia.
