A tragic incident in Nashik, Maharashtra, saw nine members of a family losing their lives after their car fell into a roadside well in the Shivajinagar area. The Dindori taluka community is mourning the loss. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The family had attended a meeting at Raje Banquet Hall in Shivajinagar organized by ‘Vadje Classes’ before the fatal incident occurred. While returning home in their Maruti XL car, the driver reportedly lost control, leading to the vehicle veering off the road and into the well. A large crowd gathered at the site following the Friday night tragedy.
Tehsildar Mukesh Kamble, Police Inspector Bhagwan Mathure, and Chief Officer Sandeep Chaudhary, along with emergency response teams and local residents, rushed to the scene upon receiving the news. The rescue operation faced challenges due to the water-filled well, with the car being successfully retrieved around midnight with the aid of cranes.
During the operation, the bodies of eight victims were recovered from the vehicle, while a search was conducted to find a young girl who had drowned in the well. The deceased individuals have been identified, and the authorities are conducting further investigations into the incident.
