Incubation centers are crucial for supporting entrepreneurs, commercializing research, and enhancing collaboration among academia, industry, and investors, stated NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Ashok Kumar Lahiri. He highlighted this during the launch of West Bengal’s first Atal Incubation Centre at Techno India University in Kolkata, expressing optimism about empowering the state’s youth for innovative ventures. Lahiri stressed that these centers create a conducive environment for startups, aiding in research commercialization and promoting partnerships between educational institutions, industry, and investors.
At the Annual Convocation of Techno India University, Lahiri commended graduating students, advising them to blend technical skills with integrity and judgment in their professional pursuits. He underscored the pivotal role of young professionals in shaping India’s future through dedication and innovation. The newly established Atal Incubation Centre is expected to bolster the innovation and entrepreneurial landscape in West Bengal, Lahiri added.
During his visit, Lahiri also spoke at The Bengal Club on the theme, “Resurgence of Bengal in the Context of Viksit Bharat.” He highlighted the significance of state-level development in realizing the vision of a developed India by 2047, acknowledging West Bengal’s historical contributions in industry, education, and innovation. Lahiri emphasized the necessity of enhancing human resources, infrastructure, industrial growth, and institutional capabilities to unlock the state’s full potential and contribute significantly to the nation’s progress.
