Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of Bihar has decided to allocate Mondays and Fridays each week exclusively for addressing public grievances in government offices. This initiative allows citizens to meet relevant officers directly at their workplaces to voice and resolve their concerns. The arrangement covers all levels of government offices, from Gram Panchayat to State-level.
Nitish Kumar emphasized that officers must be present on these designated days, engage respectfully with citizens, listen attentively to their issues, and ensure timely redressal of grievances. This move aligns with the Seven Resolutions-3 program, focusing on “Respect for All – Ease of Living,” aimed at enhancing accessibility and responsiveness of governance. The objective is to alleviate common challenges faced by citizens in their interactions with government offices.
As part of this program, government offices are instructed to provide basic amenities like seating, drinking water, and toilets for visitors. Each office will maintain a complaint register, and a monitoring mechanism will be established to ensure accountability in addressing grievances. The implementation of this system is set to begin on January 19, 2026, as directed by the Chief Minister.
Nitish Kumar expressed confidence that this initiative will greatly benefit the public by expediting issue resolution and improving daily lives. He encouraged citizens to share feedback on the system by January 10, 2026, through designated channels to further enhance its effectiveness.
