Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, is set to formally join active politics, a decision welcomed by Janata Dal (United) leaders who believe it resonates with party workers. Nishant Kumar’s induction into the party is scheduled for Sunday afternoon in Patna, with senior JD(U) leaders in attendance.
JD(U) National Spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad expressed that party workers have long been encouraging Nishant Kumar to venture into politics, emphasizing the positive impact his entry will have on strengthening the party. Bihar Minister Madan Sahni also conveyed the party’s anticipation and warm reception for Nishant Kumar as he joins JD(U) officially.
In response to the development, Pappu Yadav highlighted the potential of Nishant Kumar’s entry to foster unity within the JD(U), suggesting that it could help uphold Nitish Kumar’s political legacy. Nishant Kumar’s formal joining ceremony is slated for 1 p.m. at the JD(U) party office in Patna, where he will be welcomed by senior leaders, including JD(U) National Working President Sanjay Kumar Jha.
Preparations are underway for Nishant Kumar’s entry, with welcoming posters already visible in parts of the city and heightened security measures at the party headquarters to manage the expected influx of supporters and party members. The announcement follows a public confirmation by Sanjay Kumar Jha that Nishant Kumar would imminently join the party, with Nishant’s active involvement in organizational activities becoming increasingly evident through recent meetings with senior JD(U) figures.
During a recent meeting, Nishant engaged with JD(U) MLAs, district presidents, and senior officials, including Union Minister Rajeev Ranjan Singh, as he familiarized himself with party members. Dressed in traditional attire, Nishant interacted briefly with various leaders, signaling his readiness to assume a leadership role within the party.
