North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un recently supervised tests of various firepower systems aimed at enhancing the country’s artillery and missile capabilities. The tests, conducted on Thursday, included an upgraded 240 mm-calibre 24-tubular multiple rocket launcher system, a tactical ballistic missile, and 155mm self-propelled gun-howitzer shells with extended firing ranges.
The enhanced rocket launcher system features an automated firepower system and precise guidance, with a firing range extended to 90 km. Additionally, the tactical ballistic missile is equipped with a specialized warhead designed to cause significant damage to critical enemy targets such as airfields, ports, and power facilities, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
Kim, the General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the DPRK, emphasized the tests’ importance in showcasing significant technological advancements in reshaping the country’s firepower capabilities and developing advanced weapon systems with automatic, long-range, and high-precision capabilities.
