The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has transformed its Senior Institute in Maligaon near Guwahati into a modern facility with top-notch amenities for railway employees and their families. Named “Kanaklata Bhawan” after Kanaklata Barua, Assam’s youngest freedom fighter, the institute now offers state-of-the-art facilities for social gatherings and cultural events. Additionally, a community hall within the campus has been refurbished and named after Bishnu Prasad Rabha, a prominent cultural figure in Assam.

The newly renovated facilities aim to provide a dignified and well-equipped environment for hosting various social and cultural functions. A children’s play area called “Nahor Udyan” has also been established within the Bhawan campus to offer a safe and vibrant recreational space for kids. NFR’s General Manager, Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, highlighted that employee welfare remains a top priority for the Northeast Frontier Railway, emphasizing the importance of upgraded infrastructure and improved facilities to enhance employee morale.

By focusing on employee welfare through upgraded infrastructure, modernized institutes, and enhanced community facilities, the Railway aims to boost workforce morale and efficiency. These initiatives are designed to inspire employees to carry out their duties with increased dedication and pride. The commitment to strengthening staff welfare through improved hospitals, schools, and institutional facilities underscores the Railway’s holistic approach towards enhancing employee well-being.
