Nottingham Forest has dismissed head coach Sean Dyche following his 17-game tenure, as confirmed by the Premier League. The decision came after Forest’s goalless draw with Wolves, leaving the team just three points above the relegation zone with 12 games left in the season. Dyche, who took over from Ange Postecoglou in October, had a contract until 2027.
Forest expressed gratitude to Dyche and his team for their contributions and wished them well in their future endeavors. The 54-year-old coach, who led Forest to the Europa League knockout phase, emphasized his dedication to the club despite the change in leadership. Forest will face Fenerbahce in a two-legged tie this month for a spot in the last 16.
Dyche’s departure follows a series of managerial changes at Forest, with Postecoglou lasting only 39 days before Dyche’s appointment. Despite the team’s exit from domestic cup competitions, Dyche’s efforts in the Europa League were notable. Forest finished 13th in the group stage, setting up a crucial clash with Fenerbahce. The first leg of the match is scheduled for February 19.
