Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra reassured the public that there is no shortage of petrol or diesel in the state, despite long queues at fuel stations and some closures. He urged people not to panic and rush to filling stations, emphasizing that adequate fuel stock is available. The surge in crowds seems to stem from fear of future fuel unavailability due to global circumstances.
Patra advised against excessive fuel stocking, noting that panic buying has led to unnecessary queues. He emphasized that there is no fuel shortage in Odisha and encouraged judicious use of petrol and diesel. The minister highlighted the impact of global situations on fuel prices and assured that the government is monitoring the supply chain to maintain uninterrupted fuel availability.
Kamal Sheel, the Chief General Manager of IOCL and State Level Co-ordinator for Oil Industry in Odisha, confirmed that major oil companies have sufficient petrol and diesel stock in the state. Sheel urged citizens not to engage in panic purchasing or hoarding of fuel, emphasizing the abundant fuel supply to meet public demand.
