Opposition leaders marked the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor by condemning the BJP-led government for withholding information about the military action. Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy expressed frustration, stating that even as a Member of Parliament, he was not briefed on the operation’s specifics. He emphasized the need for transparency regarding the 88-hour-long mission that remains shrouded in secrecy.

Arabinda Das from the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee acknowledged India’s military superiority over Pakistan but echoed concerns about the lack of transparency surrounding Operation Sindoor. He criticized the government’s tendency to keep the opposition uninformed, calling for clarity on the mission’s outcomes and objectives.

Congress MP Amar Singh accused the BJP-led NDA government of politicizing Operation Sindoor, emphasizing that the credit belongs to the armed forces. He stressed the importance of recognizing the military’s efforts without unnecessary political interference. In contrast, Home Minister Amit Shah praised Operation Sindoor as a significant achievement, highlighting India’s military prowess and deterrent capabilities against adversaries.
