Launching a strong criticism against the Maharashtra government, the Opposition walked out of the Assembly on Monday to protest the recurring paper leaks in important exams like NEET and TET, stating that it has damaged the state’s reputation. The Opposition called for the suspension of Question Hour to discuss the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) paper leaks, emphasizing the need for a debate on the issue of examination integrity.
Congress Legislature Party leader Vijay Wadettiwar addressed the Assembly, expressing concerns about the emotional and financial impact on students and teachers due to the continuous paper leaks. He urged the government to be accountable for the lack of transparency in conducting these exams, which has affected the hard work of lakhs of aspirants. Wadettiwar highlighted the insecurity felt by millions of students, parents, and educators due to the repeated leaks.
Demanding a thorough investigation into the TET 2026 paper leak case, Wadettiwar called for tracing the entire supply chain, including those responsible for setting the papers and the companies involved in administrative logistics. He raised alarm over the interstate connections of the suspects arrested in relation to the leaks, indicating the existence of a larger network involved in such activities.
